REX Players, Rosselli, De Jesus receive end of year honors. REX centerfielder Manual De Jesus, named to Post Season All Star Team, as Prospect League’s best centerfielder. De Jesus played in the 2014 All Star Game, was the lead-off hitter for the REX and led the league for much of June in batting avg. Manual ended the season hitting .336, with 37 RBI and 43 runs scored. De Jesus was a catalyst in many games for the REX.
Perfect Game USA posts REX’s power hitter, Tony Rosselli, voted by the Prospect League, identifying Rosselli, as a top pro-level Prospect of the summer leagues. Rosselli, also played in the 2014 All Star Game hosted by Terre Haute, and was second in the All Star Home Run Derby with eight homeruns. Rosselli ended up second in the league with (7) homeruns. Rosselli led the Prospect league for the whole month of July. Tony hit .333 with five homers, three triples and six doubles. Rosselli ended the season batting .287, with 31 RBI and 32 runs scored.
Both Dejesus and Rosselli were named Prospect League Player of the Week in June and July. De Jesus will be attending his junior year at Ohio University from Wabash College, and Rosselli is gearing up for the fall season at Indiana State University, where he will be a red-shirt sophomore.
