REX Field Manager Bobby Segal moves on to the Pro Ranks

April 12, 2016

For Immediate Release:

Bobby Segal has been offered and accepted a position with Evansville Otters, of the Frontier League, as their new hitting coach.

Segal, alerted REX GM, Bruce Rosselli this past weekend that he is taking the new position, and mentioned he had a difficult time in making the decision, as he was looking forward to defending his 2015 Championship title for the upcoming season.

"It's unfortunate for the REX to lose Bobby, he is a very good coach, and it showed in how he led this team to a Championship in just two short years at the helm. But like our players, we provide a platform so they can move up to the next level of pro baseball and Bobby is a reflection of what the REX and the Prospect League provides. This decision was a great fit for him and his family, and we wish the best for Bobby in his future endeavors. Bobby will be missed by his players and fans".

"Process for replacing Segal has begun, and a new coach will be announced once the process is completed, Rosselli added".

The Otters, part of the 12 team Frontier League, are based in Evansville, IN and play their home games at the famous Bosse Field. The Otters start their season May 4, and play nearly 100 games per season across the country.
