REX SIGN INDIANA ALL-STAR STRIKE OUT KING BRAYDON TUCKER

ELKVILLE, IL - The 2018 Prospect League Champions, the Terre Haute Rex have signed right-handed pitcher Braydon Tucker, an Indiana Coaches Association All-Star and freshman at Indiana University to a contract for the 2019 season.

The 6'3", 210 pound hurler, a 2018 graduate from Northview High School in Brazil Indiana, gave up only 10 runs in his senior year. He set a school single-game record this past season striking out 20 batters in the Knights sectional win over Plainfield, capping off a perfect 9-0 record on the season with a 1.00 ERA.

The 19-year-old, 2018 Perfect Game Preseason All American was widely considered one of the best high school pitchers in Indiana. He was recently ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 5 right-handed pitcher in the Hoosier State and the No. 17 ranked prospect overall.

Among his honor and accolades, Tucker was a 2016 & 17, PG Preseason Underclass All American and named to four All-Tournament Teams with the Ironman Baseball Club and one time All-Tournament Team Honors with the Cincinnati Spikes and San Francisco Scout team Christman, winning the 2016 WWBA Underclass World Championship with the Giants Scout Team and the 2017 WWBA 2018 Grads or 17U National Championship with the Spikes.

In 2016, Tucker tossed a complete game in the IHSAA Class 3A Stat Championship, lifting the Knights to the first state title in team sport in school history and dating back to 2015 he played on the PG Super 25 16U Ohio Valley Regional Championship Team, the Ironman Baseball Club.

According to baseball scout, Greg Gerard, "Tucker dominates on the mound with his physical presence and overall pitchability. He gets excellent drive off his back leg getting downhill well creating a heavy plane on his fastball. Working from a full arm action, Tucker's fastball sets between 84-89 mph. He also has a sharp 12-to-6 curveball with good downward tilt."

The addition of Tucker gives Terre Haute a top of the rotation starter who could help lead the Rex to their third Prospect League Championship title in 2019.
