Hailing from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Gabriel Arroyo was a veteran outfielder and key contributor to the Terre Haute REX's 2024 success. As one of the team leaders, Arroyo helped guide the REX to 32 total wins, a dominant 22–6 home record at Bob Warn Field, and a thrilling run that included a second-half title, the Central Division Championship, and the Eastern Conference Championship—culminating in the team's first Prospect League Championship Series appearance since 2018.
Over 40 games in the 2024 summer season, Arroyo posted a .270 batting average with one home run, 24 RBIs, 22 runs scored, and 20 stolen bases—adding to a REX squad that ranked 2nd in the league in total steals. His reliability at the plate and on the bases made him a central piece in Terre Haute's high-powered, fast-paced offense.
Collegiately, Arroyo played at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO), where he appeared in 99 games, scored 105 runs with a .326 batting average, four home runs, 57 RBIs, and 21 stolen bases. A consistent performer and team-first leader, Arroyo brings both experience and energy to
this year's coaching staff.
