Terre Haute Rex Press Release
Wabash Valley Baseball LLC, the owner of the Terre Haute Rex, has brought championship-caliber
Prospect League baseball to Terre Haute and the surrounding Wabash Valley since the summer of 2014.
Our success has been made possible by countless loyal fans, the support and generosity of our sponsors,
dedicated employees and volunteers and our host families. As a result, the Terre Haute Rex has
showcased hundreds of talented collegiate players, as they pursue their baseball dreams while
entertaining the families of our community with America's summer game - baseball.
After thoughtful and serious deliberation, the Board of Directors of the Prospect League has decided to
cancel the 2020 season. See League's press release announcing this development. (Click here)
The Rex Ownership group fully supports this most difficult decision, arrived at by considering the priority
health and safety of all concerned. It simply would not be feasible for the Prospect League teams
to ensure the health and safety of fans, players, coaches, volunteers and host families, given the ongoing
Covid-19 health crisis. The decision took into account the impact of federal guidelines regarding mass
gatherings, such as community sporting events, and also the guidelines of the State of Indiana and the
other four states where Prospect League games are played.
In making this announcement, The Rex organization expresses gratitude and appreciation to Indiana
State University and its Athletic Department, which has leased Sycamore Stadium and Bob Warn Field to
our organization for each of the past six summers. The Rex looks forward to returning to the diamond for
Prospect League baseball in the summer of 2021, and continuing to enjoy ISU's exceptional baseball
facility.
Thank you for your understanding, and for standing with the Rex during these extraordinary times. We
